Terms and conditions
The terms covering this website and the games we publish. Short, and without the parts that exist only to intimidate.
Last updated 28 September 2026
By using this website or playing our games, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or the games.
Who you are dealing with
Broken Umbrella Games, founded by Afzaal Ahmad Zeeshan. Contact: contact@brokenumbrellagames.com.
Your licence to play
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and play our games for your own non-commercial enjoyment. You may not:
- Sell, rent or redistribute a game or its files
- Reverse-engineer or decompile it, except where law expressly permits
- Remove or alter copyright notices
- Use cheats or modifications that harm other players' experience in online modes
Where a game is distributed through a storefront — Microsoft Store, Google Play, itch.io — that store's own terms also apply to your download and any purchase.
Recording and streaming
Yes, please. You may record, stream and monetise video of our games on any platform, including with commentary, without asking us. No revenue share, no separate licence, no takedowns from us.
The one ask is that you do not present a game as your own work, or imply the studio endorses a product or opinion when it has not.
In-app purchases and currency
Some games may offer optional purchases. Where they do:
- In-game currency and cosmetic items have no real-world value and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred out of the game.
- Purchases are processed by the storefront, not by us. Refunds are handled under that store's refund policy — Microsoft, Google, Apple or itch.io as applicable — and we cannot issue them ourselves.
- If a purchase fails or something is missing from your account, tell us and we will help sort it out with the store.
If a game is discontinued, purchased content may become unavailable. We will give as much notice as we reasonably can in the devlog.
Our intellectual property
The games, their code, art, audio, names and the studio logo belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not transfer any of it to you beyond the licence and the video permission described above.
Content you create
Some games let you create content. You keep ownership of what you make. By creating it in-game you give us the licence we need to store it, show it to other players in the game, and — where the feature is designed to do so — display it as part of the game's normal operation.
Do not create or upload anything unlawful, hateful, or infringing someone else's rights. We may remove content that breaches this and suspend accounts that do so repeatedly.
Games in development
Our games are actively developed, and pages on this site describe features that are planned rather than promised. Roadmaps here are provisional and may change. Nothing on this website is a binding commitment to ship a particular feature by a particular date.
Availability
We provide the site and the games on an "as available" basis. Cloud sync depends on third-party infrastructure and an internet connection, and may be interrupted. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change, suspend or discontinue a game or feature.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the games and this site are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost game progress arising from your use of them.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.
Privacy
Handled separately and in detail in the privacy policy, with deletion covered on the data deletion request page.
Links out
This site links to storefronts and social platforms we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their practices.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page reflects the current version, and significant changes will be noted in the devlog. Continuing to use the site or the games after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the studio's place of establishment, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
